The Position
Community Health Nurses provide professional nursing services requiring licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and/or Registered Nurse in clinics, homes, schools and other community settings.

Rural Community Health Services (RCHS) is looking for an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for our Community Health Nursing (CHN) program. We have CHN clinics throughout rural and frontier Nevada (Battle Mountain, Dayton, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Hawthorn, Lovelock, Pahrump, Panaca, Silver Springs, Tonopah, Winnemucca, and Yerington). Depending on the successful applicant's preference, this position may be housed at any of our CHN locations. Community Health Nurses provide professional nursing services, health assessments, immunizations, diagnosis and treatment plans; provide family planning services; perform various tests such as pregnancy, tuberculosis, HIV, sexually transmitted diseases and communicable disease; perform laboratory procedures; responds to positive reportable disease testing with contact investigation; order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and reports; performs health assessments and screenings; maintain relationships with community partners; collaborate with health care providers and county representatives; and supervise professional and administrative employees. Our community health nursing program provides a full spectrum of public health and safety services.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada, certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, and three years of professional nursing experience in a community health setting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
Additional Position Criteria
    Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure through the Nevada State Board of Nursing
    Current Healthcare Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
    Current pharmacy license through the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
