Fleet Service Workers service vehicles and/or light, medium, and heavy construction and maintenance equipment, perform preventive maintenance, issue vehicles to employees, and perform basic diagnostic and repair work.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position is within the Dept. of Administration, Fleet Services Division, at the Las Vegas location. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of fleet vehicles, shop, grounds, and building; transport customers via shuttle bus to the airport; transport vehicles to vendors; fuel vehicles; minor maintenance and repair i.e. oil change, brake inspections, mount and balance tires, tire repairs, minor electrical repair, cooling system inspections, etc.; accurate data entry; complete accurate paperwork; and provide exceptional customer service.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of work experience which included responsibilities for fueling vehicles, checking fluid levels, and washing and detailing vehicles; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |
