The Position
University Parking Enforcement Officers perform duties involving the patrol of all parking areas within the University's jurisdiction, the enforcement of parking rules and regulations, and perform other parking-related services within the Department?s public safety programs as required or assigned.
-- The University of Nevada, Reno Parking and Transportaion Services is recruiting for a part time University Parking Enforcement Officer 1 position. The position will patrol the parking lots and enforce the University parking rules and regulations on campus. Duties include: parking enforcement and patrolling parking areas on foot; assisting in parking meter collection and repair; parking /traffic direction and control; other duties as assigned. The selected incumbent will demonstrate a willingness to work evenings and weekends during special events.
--The typical schedule is a variable 24 hour work week in the Summer between 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.: Fall/Spring Semesters between 2:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. ; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in public contact work which included obtaining, clarifying or giving facts or information.
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position is designated as Essential Personnel. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
    This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.
    This position requires experience with minor equipment/vehicle assistance/maintenance such as unlocking vehicles, jumping batteries, changing tires, and more.
    This position requires working late evenings and weekends during special events.
    This position requires working outdoors in inclement weather as well as continuous walking and occasional lifting.
