The Position
Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisors and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors manage a caseload budget; determine eligibility or ineligibility; assess vocational rehabilitation needs; develop individualized plans for employment (IPE); coordinate the delivery of services; provide counseling and advocacy services; provide appropriate job placement; and determine employment outcome in order to minimize disabling conditions and reduce dependency for individuals whose mental or physical disability presents a barrier to employment and/or self-sufficiency.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
These positions will be located at the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in our Carson City and Reno Offices. Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors provide services to our clients to return to employment. This includes gathering intake information as well as medical documentation to determine eligibility. A counselor may collaborate with medical professionals, training specialists, JobConnect and other vendors to assist with the client in returning to work.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling or health, social or other related behavioral science.
Special Requirements
    Proof of eligibility to sit for the Rehabilitation Counselor Certification exam from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification is required at the time of application. Go to www.crccertification. com to view eligibility requirements.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Criteria
    These positions require proof of eligibility to sit for the Rehabilitation Counselor Certification exam from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
