Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS), Stein Hospital. The Stein Hospital is a secure forensic hospital providing inpatient forensic services for adults who are court committed, serving Southern Nevada. The Stein Hospital is located in Las Vegas, NV and is scheduled to open in late 2015.
Through a team approach, SNAMHS provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Agency positions may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location and any shift.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
|
|
Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. |
|
Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
|
|
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. |
