JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Temporary, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
These positions are located in the Reno/Sparks/Carson City area.
Incumbent assists in routine maintenance duties, including keeping pavement surface, shoulders, clear zones, and associated roadways in good repair; summer betterment projects, and assistance in emergency operations. The hours for these positions are subject to change depending on the needs of the appointing authority and may be five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts. These positions may require working in inclement weather. NOTE: THESE POSITIONS WILL BE UTILIZED FOR SUMMER 2015 EMPLOYMENT FOR ALL FUTURE CONSTRUCTION AID POSITIONS. YOU MUST REAPPLY UNDER THE NEW RECRUITMENT FOR EACH NEW SEASON.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Courses at the high school level and/or work experience that provided the applicant with the ability to read and write, follow simple verbal or written instructions, and operate common tools and equipment.
Special Requirements
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. In addition, federal law requires random testing for controlled substances during employment.
Additional Position Criteria
This position requires an applicant to be at least 18 years of age upon application. If selected, proof of being at least 18 years of age will be required.
Applicants must be willing to accept temporary (under six months) employment.
This position requires a valid class C driver's license.
