Administrative Services Officers function as business managers for a large division or major program area or facility, with responsibility for accounting, budgeting and business management of various services and operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position is assigned to the Summit View Youth Correctional Center , a 48-bed secure facility for male youth age 14 to 18 located in North Las Vegas, NV. Incumbent will plan, organize and manage the financial operations and budget of the facility in collaboration with the Divisions Juvenile Justice Administrative Services Officer. The position will also plan, organize and manage the Kitchen Operations, Laundry Operations, Custodial Operations and Facility Maintenance Operations, including any capital improvements for the facility.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff that are committed to building strong communities through strengthening families. This is a full time position with an anticipated work schedule of 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday and includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and three years of varied and professional experience which included formulating, developing and monitoring program or agency budgets; analyzing and interpreting financial information and making recommendations; developing, evaluating or revising programs, organizations or work methods; and/or management responsibility for business operations such as contract and lease administration, purchasing and warehouse operations, buildings and grounds maintenance, food and laundry services, data processing, facilities maintenance and construction, communications equipment, or fleet maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis. |
