Maintenance Repair Aids perform manual labor and unskilled work to assist with facility operations and maintenance.
-- The University of Nevada, Reno, Facilities Operations and Maintenance Department is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Aid 3 position assigned to the Moving Crew. The Moving crew is responsible for campus Office Moves, Deliveries, Warehouse Maintenance, Event set-up and breakdown, haul construction debris and other duties as assigned. This position will require lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 90 pounds frequently.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of experience performing manual labor and unskilled work; OR six months of experience as a Maintenance Repair Aid II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

This position requires experience operating equipment used for deliveries and moving (hand trucks, lift gates, delivery vehicles, tie downs, etc.) |

This position requires experience operating basic hand and power tools (hammer, screw driver, tape measure, power drill, etc.) |

This position requires the ability to read and interpret work orders and operation manuals. |

This position requires some experience with proper lifting techniques and the ability to safely lift and move heavy objects. This position will require lifting, carrying, and moving items up to 90 pounds frequently. |

This position requires basic computer skills (ex. navigating email, pulling up calendars, basic Word documents, etc.) |

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
