The Position
Electronic Technician's perform work requiring the application of electronic principles and practices involving the installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, programming and modification of a variety of electronic and computerized equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Performs work requiring the application of electronic principles and practices involving the installation, maintenance, calibration, repair, programming and modification of a variety of electrical and computerized equipment. Under limited direction, performs the full range of duties in the series concept. This position works on military facilities. Preferred applicant would have experience with: Ademco Alarm panels with Alarmnet cellular back up communications; Bosch Digital Video Recorders, PTZ and IP Cameras; Lenel Enterprise level access control panels and associated hardware; Cisco computer network communications and switches. Ability to work 40 ft above ground.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Associate's degree in electronics or closely related field from an accredited college or technical school and two years of experience performing electronic technician work involving the installation, maintenance, calibration, repair and modification of a variety of electrical and computerized equipment; OR two years of experience as an Electronics Technician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    This position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds overhead.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
