The Position
Quality Control Specialists review sample casework of public assistance, child support enforcement, disability adjudication/fraud, or vocational rehabilitation programs to determine compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures; identify errors and causal factors; investigate and verify case facts and information; and recommend corrective action or compile data for required reports.

The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is recruiting for current and future vacancies located in our Program, Review, and Evaluation (PRE) Unit in Central Office. Quality Control Specialists analyze case records in the Medicaid, Child Care, Child Support Enforcement and/or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to determine the accuracy and validity of evidence supporting eligibility decisions and accuracy of benefit designations. The incumbent must meet strict monthly deadlines and conduct interviews with recipients of public assistance in order to make independent determinations of clients' eligibility and resolve discrepancies found during the audit. The incumbent may be required to present findings and trends in Statewide conference calls, management meetings, and other venues as well as present training to field offices. Moderate statewide travel (typically up to 25%) will be required and may necessitate overnight stays.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of journey level experience eliciting information regarding support enforcement and/or eligibility for public assistance programs including conducting interviews, making determinations based on the application of rules and regulations, verifying and analyzing information, and documenting facts pertinent to the program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Requires experience with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) eligibility criteria and policy parameters.
