Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is in the Department of Education located in Carson City, NV. The Administrator has five core areas of responsibility: Assessments, Accountability, Data Systems and Analysis, Contract Management, and Supervision/Evaluation. This position will ensure the state has an aligned system of assessment and accountability to drive increased outcomes for students and system level reform. Secondarily, this position will coordinate the state's data system to ensure all stakeholders (from parents and students to district administrators and state personnel) have ready access to information upon which to make decisions while ensuring the state upholds its ethical obligation to safeguard our student and teacher data.
NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education, education administration, public administration, business administration, or closely related field and five years of professional experience relevant to the field of education which included responsibility for large scale educational assessment design, delivery, or analysis; and responsibility for at least two of the following areas: psychometrics, researching, collecting or analyzing data and statistics; developing reports and recommendations; program development, implementation, or evaluation; or supervision of staff; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience above the Master's degree level.
