Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Under the direct clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist, incumbents perform the duties described in the series concept in a trainee capacity. Incumbents may be automatically progressed to Licensed Psychologist I upon receipt of licensure as a psychologist in the State of Nevada
This position is located in Carson City, Rural Regional Center. Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers and is a great place to work. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities, or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
The incumbent will have completed doctoral level training in psychology and will be able to meet State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners requirements for certification as a Psychological Assistant and eventual licensure as a Psychologist.
Primary duties of the position include but are not limited to: determination of Regional Center eligibility in adherence with federal and state guidelines; performing psychological testing and evaluations and providing written reports of findings as required by Nevada Medicaid Waiver; providing psychological and behavioral consultations to families and professional caregivers; and providing individual, family and group treatment or psycho-educational programs to individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities who have co-occurring emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric problem.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Doctorate in Psychology and an approved internship agreement with the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

Psychological Assistants must maintain an approved internship with the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners as a condition of continuing employment. |
