The Position
DMV Service Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position is located in Tonopah within our DMV Field Services Division and is dedicated to customer service and the delivery of DMV programs to the community. The services provided by DMV Services Technicians include licensing drivers, voter registration, issuing identification cards; registering and titling vehicles; issuing business occupational licenses, and processing reinstatements. ***THIS RECRUITMENT REQUIRES A TYPING CERTIFICATE. PLEASE ATTACH YOUR TYPING CERTIFICATE TO YOUR APPLICATION OR YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. PLEASE READ ANNOUNCEMENT. MANDATORY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: A typing certificate (issued within the last 6 months) must accompany your application and must verify your net typing speed of at least 30 words per minute in a five (5) minute test. NO SELF- ADMINISTERED or ON-LINE TYPING TEST/CERTIFICATE WILL BE ACCEPTED. The typing certificate may be attained through any Nevada Job Connect office, Community College, Manpower office or other staffing agencies (to give examples). This certificate must have the Company Name, Phone Number, Date and Signature of Test Administrator. This position requires all DMV employees involved in registering voters must disclose information regarding previous and current felony convictions of theft and/or fraud. NRS 293.504 identifies the Department of Motor Vehicles as a voter registration agency. NRS 293.5045 states, a voter registration agency shall not knowingly employ a person whose duties will include the registration of voters if the person has been convicted of a felony involving theft or fraud. Federal Regulation 49CFR 384.228 identifies the Department of Motor Vehicles, Field Services Division, as a CDL testing program and shall not employ a person with any felony conviction within the last 10 years or convictions of any fraudulent activities. DMV also requires an online a pre-employment criminal history check. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience which included public and/or customer contact including explaining rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Special Notes
    Pursuant to NRS 293-5045, a voter registration agency shall not knowingly employ a person whose duties will include the registration of voters if the person has been convicted of a felony involving theft or fraud.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
