The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
As part of the hiring process, applicants at the Division of Nevada State Parks may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
This position is located at Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park near Incline Village, Nevada. Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park includes four management areas exceeding 1,000,000 visitors per year. Candidates must be able to provide a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment. Job duties include general office management and a variety of administrative support functions for the operation of Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. Specifically, this position is responsible for park communications and information, reception, correspondence, mail, filing, purchasing procedures, office inventory and equipment. The position also coordinates the park group use area and commercial bus access to the park, issues park permits and assists with deposits, acts as the citation clerk with the local court, and prepares hiring paperwork for 25+ employees each season. Other duties include assistance with budget development and monitoring, as well as other special projects including maintaining the park?s social media presence. The position requires the use of general office equipment and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. The employee may be required to work holidays, weekends, and special events.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
