Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a full-time position, working Wednesday through Sunday, 8am to 5pm.
This position supports Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) and is in the In-Patient Benefits Program located in Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. This position will work for the Inpatient Financial Services Department at Rawson-Neal Hospital. The position will assist clients with mental illness with complex issues related to application, maintenance and coordination of public and private health benefits, Social Security benefits, social services; resolve benefits related pharmacy issues and collaborate with other programs and agencies to ensure clients are able to maximize use of available resources. This position will also be responsible for data and report preparation and will supervise lower level staff.
Applicants must have a minimum of intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the new Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through mental health clinics located throughout the Las Vegas community and rural locations. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
