THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE POSTED CLOSING DATE. INTERESTED APPLICATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Incumbent performs duties below the journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional health/human services class. This recruitment will be used to under fill a Psychiatric Caseworker II position with the Child and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Response Team in Las Vegas. The Mobile Crisis Response Team triages calls from community, responds in teams to children and adolescents in acute psychiatric and behavioral crisis in the community. Responses can take place in emergency departments, schools, home and other community settings. Teams can remain in place for up to 30 days to provide intensive clinical and case management services to these youth and families. This position underfills a Psychiatric Caseworker II. Auto progression can occur once the minimum qualifications are met progressively and at the approval of the appointing authority.

DCFS utilizes a family centered model in delivering services that is focused on engaging children, families and the family team, and encouraging their participation in decisions. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing , or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree).
Special Notes
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Applicants who possess a Bachelor's degree in a discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained will not be required to take the written examination for Health/Human Services Professional Trainee.
Applicants must have a current Driver's License.
Special Requirements
Some series may strictly require at least a bachelor's degree to qualify. Only applicants who possess a bachelor's or higher degree may be considered qualified for this class.
A pre-employment criminal background and fingerprint check is required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

To qualify for this position you must have a completed related degree.
The Examination
Health/Human Services Professional Trainee
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
