The Position
Mental Health Technicians supplement the work of mental health professionals, health specialists, and nursing staff in providing direct client care for clients in a mental health facility.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
The Rural Clinic in Fernley, Department of Behavioral and Public Health has a Mental Health Technician I (underfill Mental Health Technician II) position, that identifies presenting basic skills deficits, provides crisis management and care coordination. Participate in family-centered treatment planning, discharge planning, strategic planning, quality assurance and improvement. Provide crisis management strategies to reduce out of home placement. Provide rehabilitative mental health services, care coordination and administrative support. This can include frontline reception, appointment scheduling, maintaining accurate client records, maintain financial data entry, monitor and track center data reports and assist with medication clinic.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience involving public contact which may have included providing care or guidance for children, elders or others; volunteer work in providing respite to caregivers; or leading youth groups; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.

    This position is located in Silver Springs, Lahontan, or Fernley.
