Equipment Mechanics maintain, repair, and modify fleet equipment comprised of a variety of light, medium, and heavy automotive and maintenance equipment, landscape equipment, computerized testing equipment, and diesel-fueled electric power generators.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Equipment Mechanic 2 for Facilities Maintenance Services. The major purpose of this job is to perform duties to include scheduling preventative maintenance; diagnostic malfunctions; perform repairs including electrical, charging, starting, fuel, suspension, engine, transmission, air conditioning, body, brake, chassis, exhaust, drive axel, and heating and cooling systems.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program; OR completion of the Equipment Mechanic-In-Training program in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. |
