The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series. Clinical Social Workers will provide individual, family and group therapy, targeted case management services, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, periodic reviews and discharge planning. Youth served have mental health diagnosis and have met criteria for severe emotionally disturbance. This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies. These positions are located in the Division of Child and Family Service, Children's Mental Health. There are positions open in Early Childhood Mental Health Services (age birth-8) and Children's Clinical Services (age 6-17) in Las Vegas.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in genuine partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS recognizes that Nevada's families are our future and children, youth and families thrive when they live in safe permanent settings, experience a sense of sustainable emotional and physical wellbeing, and receive support to consistently make positive choices for family and the common good. DCFS utilizes a family centered model in delivering services that is focused on engaging children, families and the family team, and encouraging their participation in decisions. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff that are committed to the Nevada children and families we serve!

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
    Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience working with children 8 years of age and under.
