State Land Agents conduct a broad range of real estate transactions related to State lands, leases, water rights, mineral rights, easements, navigable water management, and acquisition and sale of land, water rights and development rights within statutory authority and in accordance with established real estate principles, practices and ethical standards.
Under general supervision, incumbents perform the full range of duties described in the series concept at the journey level and function in two or more areas of specialty to include sovereign lands, property acquisitions, property leasing and management, easements, property appraisal or property disposal.
This position works on projects independently as well as providing support to Nevada Tahoe Resource Team members on a wide variety of projects. This position will primarily be involved with administering the agency's land programs in the Lake Tahoe basin. Duties include acquisition and disposal of land and interests in land, including land coverage rights and other partial interests; processing authorizations for the use of State lands, including pier and buoy permits at Lake Tahoe. Close coordination with other agencies will be required including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. Other duties include maintenance of land records, preparation of written reports, making public presentations and conducting research on land related issues.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, real estate, environmental or natural science, or related field and two years of experience in public lands; real estate, escrow and title, property appraisal, or related field, one year of which included responsibility for property valuations or transactions such as acquisition, disposal, property management or development or leasing; OR one year of experience as a State Land Agent I in Nevada State service, OR and equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
