Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
These positions within the DCFS Wraparound In Nevada (WIN) Program provide intensive care coordination within the statewide Children's Behavioral Health system utilizing the Wraparound Model; DCFS Wraparound Facilitators link families to appropriate resources, facilitate Child and Family Team meetings, and empower families to identify their informal or "natural" supports to participate in case planning; DCFS Wraparound Facilitators also complete Strength, Needs and Cultural Discoveries with youth and families, develop individualized care coordination plans, and collaborate with agencies in the community to serve youth and families.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in genuine partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS recognizes that Nevada's families are our future and children, youth and families thrive when they live in safe permanent settings, experience a sense of sustainable emotional and physical wellbeing, and receive support to consistently make positive choices for family and the common good. DCFS utilizes a family centered model in delivering services that is focused on engaging children, families and the family team, and encouraging their participation in decisions. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff that are committed to the Nevada children and families we serve.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or mental retardation setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |
