JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
DMV Service Technicians provide customer services associated with driver's license, vehicle, and business occupational licensing programs.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located in our Las Vegas office within the DMV Field Services Division. The DMV Services Technician 4 conducts commercial and/or non-commercial driving skills tests including problem and high risk drivers; drivers with physical/mental disabilities and for non and/or limited English speaking customers; determine applicant's ability to safely operate a vehicle; review test results with applicant; counsel drivers, refer to driver improvement course and apply restriction to privilege when appropriate. Additional duties may include process and issue of driver's vehicle titles and registration; also balance and maintain office funds.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of varied and increasingly responsible experience related to registration/titling of motor vehicles or licensing motor vehicle operators, one year of which was equivalent to a DMV Services Technician III performing a variety of transactions involving standard driver's license and/or registration transactions, vehicle ownership transactions, issuance of duplicate driver's license and/or registration, and assisting new residents in obtaining driver's license/registration; OR one year of experience as a DMV Services Technician III in Nevada State service; OR two years of experience as a DMV Services Technician II in a relevant program-specific area.

Pursuant to NRS 293-5045, a voter registration agency shall not knowingly employ a person whose duties will include the registration of voters if the person has been convicted of a felony involving theft or fraud.
Some positions are required to undergo yearly criminal background and fingerprinting checks at the expense of the employee.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
