JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is recruiting for a vacancy in our Publications Unit in Carson City. The incumbent will be responsible for editing, formatting, and distributing policy and procedures and Division manual updates, forms, and memorandums; create, design, and/or update Division printed materials including: forms, brochures, posters, organization charts, booklets, and letterhead; distribute mail and make routine outside mail delivery runs; process all incoming vendor invoices and billing claims; and assist the property inventory coordinator with inventory maintenance.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
This position requires advanced Microsoft Word -A skill assessment will be completed at the time of the interview.
This position requires intermediate Adobe Pro -A skill assessment will be completed at the time of the interview.
The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
