JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
-- The University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) is recruiting for a Residency Coordinator/ AA3 for Obstetrics & Gynecology department. The incumbent's primary purpose is to serve as a Residency Coordinator. Duties include to serve as a liaison to regulatory agencies, coordinate resident recruitment and selection processes, onboard new residents, coordinate rotation, perform process for program evaluations and program and department support as needed.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.

This position requires experience managing and coodination of several schedules and calendars.
This position requires experience tracking and maintaining confidential records.
This position requires the ability to travel.
This position requires obtaining a TAGME certification (national residency coordinator certification) within three years of employment.
This position requires experience using Microsoft Word in a business setting.
This position requires experience using Microsoft Excel in a business setting.
The Examination
CLERICAL SUPPORT EXAM
The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
Qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
