Community Health Nurses provide professional nursing services requiring licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and/or Registered Nurse in clinics, homes, schools and other community settings.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Able to work independently to provide : 1. Immunizations according to ACIP guidelines, 2. Well Child exams, 3. Developmental Screenings, 4. Family planning services including collaborationwith other APRN's and RN's for provision of family planning services, 5. WIC hemoglobins, 6. Management of TB screenings and positive reactive patients, 7. Fluoride varnish applications, 8. lead screenings on children 1-6 yrs of age, 9. Behavioral Health lab collection and EKG's 10. STD services including blood draws and microscopy, 11. General duties as assigned.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada, certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner, and four years of professional community health nursing experience, one of which must have included supervisory responsibilities.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
