The Position
Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.

The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is currently recruiting for two vacancies in our Investigations and Recovery Unit at Central Office. These positions serve as our Administrative Disqualification Hearing (ADH) Coordinators. The incumbents will review eligibility files, applications, policy, regulations, and other documents or evidence to determine if the program recipient intentionally violated program rules; prepares a legal brief with exhibits summarizing the facts that support an allegation of program violation and presents it to the Hearing Officer; and coordinates the scheduling of pre-hearing conferences, conducts interviews, negotiates repayment agreements for program violation overpayments, and arranges for witnesses to testify on behalf of the Division. **Special Note:A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant and on an annual basis while employed. Felony convictions are disqualifying and felony charges and/or misdemeanor convictions and some traffic violations may be disqualifying dependent upon type, number, severity, and time frame.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and four years of previous experience either performing or assisting in the planning, coordinating or administering of a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    Experience with eligibility criteria and policies in one or more of the following public assistance programs: SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid.
The Examination
If there are five or fewer qualified applicants, the exam will consist of an application evaluation. (This statement does not apply for Until Recruitment Needs are Satisfied (URS) announcements).

The exam will consist of a written weighted 100%.
