Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Clinical Social Workers will provide individual, family and group therapy, targeted case management services, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, periodic reviews and discharge planning. Youth served have mental health diagnosis and have met criteria for severe emotionally disturbance.
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple vacancies. These positions are located in the Division of Child and Family Service, Children's Mental Health. There are positions open in Early Childhood Mental Health Services (age birth-8) and Children's Clinical Services (age 6-17) in Las Vegas.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. DCFS is an extremely complex organization with incredibly dedicated and professional staff that are committed to building strong communities through strengthening families.
This is a full time position and includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. |
|
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. |
|
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Experience working with children 8 years of age and under. |
|
The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
