The Position
Health Care Coordinators perform professional work related to Medicaid program operations and auditing providers to ensure compliance with program policies and regulations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position serves under the Department of Health and Human Services, within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (Medicaid). This position is a Health Care Coordinator II and is housed at the Las Vegas District Office. This position will provide case management services to recipients eligible under the Home and Community Based Waiver for Persons with Physical Disabilities (HCBW). The HCBW Unit works with recipients who reside in their own housing within the community who are diagnosed with a physical disability and meet a level of care that would otherwise require admission into an institutional facility if home services weren't put into place. This position is required to make bi-annual home visits and monthly telephone contacts with recipients to ensure delivery of services and recipients' safety. Health Care Coordinator IIs directly report to a Health Care Coordinator IV. The travel requirements for this position is less than 50%.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Social Worker or professional licensure or certification in a medical specialty applicable to the assignment, and one year of professional experience providing case management services in a social or health related field; OR one year of experience as a Health Care Coordinator I in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Professional licensure or certification as a social worker, nurse or in a medical specialty issued by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Nevada at the time of appointment. Incumbents must maintain professional licensure or certification in their specialty as a condition of continuing employment.
