Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Education Programs Professionals assist and foster the growth of PK-12, postsecondary, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight. Under the direction of the Office of Student and School Supports Director at the Nevada Department of Education, this position (located in either the Carson City or Las Vegas office) provides leadership to support Title I programs and effective school and district improvement planning and implementation. As part of this oversight, the position provides professional development and technical assistance for educators, administrators, family members, students, policy makers, and others regarding laws and educational practices related to students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have expertise or experience in implementing effective school and/or district improvement strategies that foster improved student achievement. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.

An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area. |
