This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Nursing Department. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program. Agency positions may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location, initially this position is anticipated to be assigned to Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, located at 1650 Community College Dr, Las Vegas, NV. Incumbent provides professional nursing care to mentally ill adult clients, and is an integral component of the clinical service team. Incumbent must actively participate in a multidisciplinary team, managing a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. Dynamic work responsibilities include assessing and identifying patient health care needs; making comprehensive clinical observations; prepare and document nursing care plans; administer medications; monitoring patients for medication side effects and/or allergic reaction. Serve as a first-line supervisor for the unit, providing work direction, resolving patient care and staffing issues, assign and review work, establish work performance standards, evaluate performance, provide coaching and discipline to assigned staff as needed. Will also function as the Hospital House Supervisor when needed. This is a full time position with a set 12 hour shift. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week.
