Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
This recruitment is for Psychiatric Caseworkers for the expansion of the Child and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Response Team in Las Vegas and the Wraparound In Nevada program. The Mobile Crisis Response Team triages calls from community, responds in teams to children and adolescents in acute psychiatric and behavioral crisis in the community. Responses can take place in emergency departments, schools, home and other community settings. Teams can remain in place for up to 30 days to provide intensive clinical and case management services to these youth and families. This position will be the case management lead on the response and stabilization team. The mobile crisis team will provide services during daytime, evening and weekend hours across a variety of shifts. This recruitment is for all of the shifts that mobile crisis covers.
Wraparound In Nevada (WIN) is an intensive targeted case management program, which uses a specific proactive, strengths-based model in its approach to TCM. WIN serves youth, ages 6 - 18, who have been determined to meet severe emotional disturbance criteria and whose mental health issues are significantly impacting the youth's ability to function across multiple life domains. Youth served may be in parental custody and/or involved with multiple agencies including child welfare, juvenile justice, developmental and disability services, etc. The goal of WIN is to refer, link, coordinate, and monitor the effectiveness of services in order to stabilize the youth's mental health issues and return the youth to their highest level of functioning across life domains.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in genuine partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies, provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. DCFS recognizes that Nevada's families are our future and children, youth and families thrive when they live in safe permanent settings, experience a sense of sustainable emotional and physical wellbeing, and receive support to consistently make positive choices for family and the common good. DCFS utilizes a family centered model in delivering services that is focused on engaging children, families and the family team, and encouraging their participation in decisions. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and one year of experience assisting professionals in providing direct client care and implementing treatment and/or service/care coordination plans for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |

Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required and is a condition of continuing employment. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Experience working with youth under the age of 18 and their families. |
