Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
This is a part-time position located at Sierra Regional Center in Sparks, Nevada, a community based agency serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. The position involves working with children/adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities and related conditions such as autism, seizure disorders, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury. Many individuals supported also have co-occurring mental health conditions.
The psychologist is responsible for conducting psychological testing and adaptive assessments to determine eligibility for services/programs and inform support plan development. They provide comprehensive reports which record findings, observations, and recommendations.
Additionally, the psychologist will provide consultation services, conduct trainings, oversee the development of positive behavior support plans, provide individual/group counseling and offer crisis management support as needed.
Services are provided to individuals, families, community agencies and support teams with an emphasis on supporting community inclusion, attaining personal outcomes, and addressing challenging behavior.
There is active involvement in community collaboration with provider agencies, schools, and legal/court systems as requested by the agency and/or support teams. The psychologist will serve on work groups and committees such as the Behavior Intervention Committee and Human Rights Committee, as well as participate in quality assurance and related activities as directed by Administration that support the developmental service delivery system.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Licensed Psychologist I's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process. |
