Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Program Officer 1 for Parking & Transportation Services. The incumbent will maintain the multi-modal transportation system; manage shuttle bus operations; manage program budgets; assure campus compliance with state and federal DOT regulations for commercial motor vehicles, commercial licenses, and vehicle maintenance; promote the integration of the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) programs; and provide strategic direction in the area of transit, fleet, and TDM by developing new programs and services.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position does not provide lay-off rights and is contingent upon funding. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and four years of previous experience either performing or assisting in the planning, coordinating or administering of a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
