Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
The primary focus of this position is determination of Developmental Services eligibility in adherence with federal and state guidelines. Additional major duties include: performing psychological evaluations and providing written reports of findings as required by Nevada Medicaid Waiver; providing psychological/behavioral consultations to families and professional caregivers; and providing individual, family and group treatment or psycho-educational programs to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities who have co-occurring emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric problems; and perform emergency involuntary hospitalization assessments as needed.
The incumbent also attends Psychological Services staff, and Developmental Services leadership meetings; Behavior Intervention Committee, Human Rights Committee, and State Eligibility Review Committee meetings/teleconferences, in-service trainings, and other meetings as needed, and participates in policy development and revision, and quality assurance related projects as needed. He or she will provide forensic psychological consultations to courts, law enforcement and parole and probation agencies, as well as consultation and education to other agencies and individuals in the community as dictated by needs of consumers and provide psychological/behavior consultations to other Developmental Services staff to address consumer needs.
He or she also functions as a first-line supervisor who hires, trains, defines essential functions, supervises, and evaluates the performance of assigned staff and graduate student externs; assigns and reviews their work; and initiates disciplinary action if warranted.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Licensed Psychologist I's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
