This is a Health Program Specialist 1 position within the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section in the Bureau of Child, Family and Community Wellness, Division of Public and Behavioral Health located in Carson City, Nevada. This position requires surveillance and evaluation coordination and management for the Chronic Disease Section and Tobacco Prevention and Control Program. The person in this position will manage program evaluation activities that include designing and identifying measures that track program change. Experience in program evaluation, including professional practice, situational analysis, project management and systematic inquiry to help achieve measurable health outcomes. Creation of logic models that describe the sequence of events that brings about change. Lead the collection, analysis and interpretation of chronic disease data and develop a timely dissemination plan. Experience in developing data collection tools and preparation of data reports and presentations utilizing primary and secondary data systems and sources. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a health science, behavioral science or closely related field applicable to the program area and two years of health-related experience which included researching, collecting, and analyzing data and statistics, developing objectives, protocols, and procedures, providing health education services to target groups or the general public, and/or investigation and prevention of communicable or chronic diseases; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
