The Position
Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform a variety of duties at the sub-journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional class related to fiscal or business management functions in State government.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position will receive on the job training in research and analysis techniques and methodologies; accounting and budgeting; management and administration concepts, principles and practices, for support of the prescription assistance program and other consumer benefit programs. The person in this position will work directly with individuals with mental/behavioral health disorders, utilize various computer software including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications and must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; compose business correspondence and reports. This position provides support to the NNAMHS pharmacy program and directly supports NNAMHS and Rural Community Health Services management in the implementation of the Prescription Assistance Programs. This position will interpret and apply State and Federal regulations regarding prescription assistance programs/subsidies, pharmacy programs, Medicare, Medicaid, ACA and private insurance and the Federal FFPL. In addition, this position may provide services on behalf of and at multiple clinic sites statewide to support the mission of the Division. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015. This position will be located in either Carson City or Reno, Nevada. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business or public administration, accounting, finance or similar discipline directly related to fiscal or business management; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.
Special Notes
    Incumbents may progress to the entry level in the professional series upon meeting the minimum qualifications and with the approval of the appointing authority.
    Appointments to positions in this class require successful completion of a written examination.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

    Position will be located either in Carson City or Reno, Nevada depending upon candidate pool. Applicants must indicate their willingness to accept employment in either or both of these geographical areas.
