JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Temporary, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Personnel Technicians perform a wide variety of personnel activities including personnel records processing, recruitment and examining, new hire orientation, list certification, and payroll support duties.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
*THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED* Nevada State College (NSC) is seeking a Personnel Technician I. This recruitment is for a temporary appointment, approximately 24 months, but could be extended for a longer period of time based on funding. This position does not have layoff rights. This position will be responsible for the following: Coordinating recruiting efforts for classified, administrative faculty, academic faculty; serving as the main reception for the HR Offices; maintaining and updating information on HR's website using NSC's content management system; processing FMLA requests; processing various payroll related items; entering data on new hires in HRMS; and providing general support to the HR Department including answering phones, preparing correspondence and other duties as assigned.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM. *Per the Nevada State Legislature, classified employees are subject to six (6) mandatory unpaid furlough days per year.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical experience that included extensive public contact and customer service, recordkeeping, document processing, and the application of policies and regulations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
