Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Under supervision of the Food and Nutrition Administrator at the Department of Agriculture, the incumbent is responsible for the management of one or more of the six USDA Child Nutrition programs. In addition, the incumbent interprets and implements federal regulations and provides guidance to sponsors and others; conducts program renewals; trains sponsors in aspects of food service management and program requirements and program monitoring activities; holds expertise in the field of food service management and nutrition education; operates computer programs for word processing, spreadsheets, computerized presentations and nutrient analysis software; and conducts presentations to groups.

An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area. |

Positions in Food & Nutrition require certification as a Registered Dietician or Level 3 Certification from the School Nutrition Association at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
