Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
This position is located within the Division of Public and Behavioral Health at the Yerington Rural Counseling and Supportive Services Center located in Yerington, Nevada. The incumbent will provide case management services to clients experiencing mental health issues, including: linking clients to agency, community, state and federal services, individual and group psychosocial rehabilitation and develop and monitor service coordination treatment plans. The psychiatric caseworker works closely with all treatment staff in coordinating services and in supporting the day to day function of the center. Incumbent will be required to drive a State vehicle. This position may provide services on behalf of and statewide to support the Division and Rural Community Health Services. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or mental retardation setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
