The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
**PLEASE NOTE: THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE ANNOUNCED CLOSING DATE BASED ON VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED** Health Program Manager II's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program.
This position manages the Rural Community Health Services, Community Health Nursing program and associated professional and administrative staff who perform specialized duties for the program and the program organization. The Program Manager will oversee the direct service delivery function, disease investigation and epidemiology in rural and frontier counties. The position will develop goals and objectives to ensure quality care delivery and establish outcome-based performance measures and workload indicators. This position oversees and participates in budget management of grants and ensures equipment, supplies and staff workload meet the needs of the program for coordinated services delivery, writes grant reports and ensures grant deliverables are met. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Criteria
    Travel up to 50% of the time is required
    Quality Assurance experience in a health care system
