The Position
Facility Supervisors/Managers plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, custodial work, security functions, and fleet maintenance and supervise skilled and semi-skilled staff.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located at the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation in our Las Vegas Operations Management office.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience in building construction or building maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules and may be subject to call-back for response to emergencies.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination
If there are five or fewer qualified applicants, the exam will consist of an application evaluation. (This statement does not apply for Until Recruitment Needs are Satisfied (URS) announcements).
FACILITY SUPERVISOR 1 (09.612) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. Your score will be based on the information provided in your application and your responses to the questions asked below. If there are several parts to a question, answer each part separately. Along with each answer, identify the position(s) and/or training (as described in your application) where you gained the background asked for in the question. Absence of experience/training asked for in a question is not necessarily disqualifying. Failure to answer the questions will result in a score based solely on the application.

Qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview.
1) Describe your preventative maintenance experience with the following: a) HVAC; b) Refrigeration; c) Boiler Systems; d) Back-up power supplies; e) Light vehicle and equipment; f) Electrical Systems; g) Plumbing systems; h) Security Systems; and i) Roofing systems.
2) Describe your experience diagnosing and repairing systems and equipment malfunctions with the following: a) HVAC; b) Refrigeration; c) Boiler systems; d) Back-up power supplies; e) Light vehicle and equipment; f) Electrical systems; g) Plumbing systems; h) Security systems; i) Roofing systems; j) Power Tools; k) Structural fixtures.
3) Describe your experience inspecting work performed by contractors for adherence to plans and specifications.
4) Describe your experience interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings.
5) Describe your experience preparing work orders and reports of work that has been accomplished.
6) Describe your experience interpreting rules and regulations pertaining to occupational hazards, job safety, and building and fire codes.
