The Position
Under the direction of the Southern Nevada Deputy Director, Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT), act as a government affairs liaison administrator with other government agencies and the public.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The position is located in Las Vegas. The incumbent will conduct hearings for applicants and recipients of public assistance who disagree with the agency's actions or inaction pertaining to denial, reduction, delay or termination of benefits, and conduct administrative disqualification hearings for suspected program violators based on allegations of intentionally fraudulent receipt of benefits. NOTE: Per Nevada State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year through June 30,2015.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, social science, English or other relevant field and two years of professional experience in the assigned program which included making determinations or adjudicating issues through interpretation and application of federal and State laws, regulations and procedures; analysis of policy, precedents and current circumstances; and writing concise, logical and understandable decisions or technical documentation; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Current certification as a paralegal or graduation from an accredited school of law may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
