Tax Examiners are responsible for licensing/registration, collecting taxes and fees, and assisting taxpayers to ensure compliance with the applicable tax and registration statutes.

This position is with the Nevada Department of Taxation and serves as a Taxpayer Service representative. Duties include, but are not limited to, answering taxpayer questions about sales and use tax over the phone and through correspondence, and registering businesses for a sales tax permit. No prior collection or accounting experience necessary. Must be able to read and interpret statutes with training. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.
