Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
--The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 1 for the College of Science. The incumbent will be the reviewing officer, agency supervisor, and liaison between college departments and UNR administrative offices; train personnel regarding UNR policies and procedures in all area of human resources, review positions, and recommend appropriate rank, range, and class levels; review and track all search materials; resolve classified employee conflicts and disciplinary matters; process student payroll; review and assist departments in developing and processing budgets; and other duties as assigned.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field; OR three years experience as a Personnel Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires experience coordinating budgetary activities including overseeing accounts and assisting with annual budget development and reporting. |

This position requires knowledge of human resources policies and procedures. |

This position requires experience using Microsoft Word in a business setting. |

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
