Health Program Specialists plan, develop, implement and evaluate health services and activities; develop goals, objectives, program requirements and procedures; provide technical information regarding specialized health related conditions; and participate and provide support to various committees, advisory boards and other work groups.
This is a Health Program Specialist 2 Evaluation Program Manager Position within the Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion (CDPHP) Section in the Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness. This position leads evaluation efforts for the CDPHP Section utilizing national, local and regional data sets to conduct in-depth analysis that helps with program accountability to achieve measurable health outcomes. Key duties for this position include planning, developing and implementing statewide evaluation designs for initiatives such as cancer screenings, oral health sealants, diabetes self-management and physical activities. This includes, establishing performance indicators and benchmarks to evaluate program goals, objectives and key activities. Creating logic models, satisfaction surveys, questionnaires and community health assessments. Moreover, this position collects, cleans analyzes and interprets evaluation data and develops timely evaluation reports. NOTE: Per NV State Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of 48 hours per year (part-time prorated) through June 30, 2015.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a health science, behavioral science or closely related field applicable to the program area and three years of health-related experience which included researching, collecting, and analyzing data and statistics, developing objectives, protocols, and procedures, providing health education services to target groups or the general public, and/or investigation and prevention of communicable or chronic diseases; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
