JOB INFORMATION

Statewide.
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation
of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

Positions perform a variety of duties related to wildlife management, conservation and wildlife. ecology. Most position are of a 3 month duration over the summer months, working 4-10 hour days in the field and camping at remote work locations sites on the workdays.
Some positions may require a valid driver's license at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
This recruitment is open at all three levels and may be filled at any level. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the level that best fits their education and experience. 5 college credits in biology or related field is equivalent to 1 month of experience.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of experience assisting in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects; OR completion of 15 college credits in wildlife management, biology, or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid I in Nevada State service.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
