The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties such as maintaining records and files; composing and editing correspondence; data entry; office management; and budget monitoring.
--The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 3 for KUNR, Northern Nevada's public radio station. The main purpose of this job is to manage administrative functions at KUNR as well as supervise, train, and schedule volunteers as necessary. The incumbent will assist the Station Manager by scheduling meetings, donor visits, KUNR events, and maintain the internal calendar; prepare, edit, and proofread a variety of documents; maintain complex recordkeeping and files; coordinate travel arrangements; prepare deposits of donations; prepare timesheets, accounting forms, P-card transactions, and reconcile reports; maintain contracts; greet and screen telephone calls from faculty, staff, and visitors in a pleasant and helpful manner; and resolve payment issues with donors and business clients.
--The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs. This position does not provide lay-off rights and is contingent upon funding. Pursuant to Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days (part-time prorated) per fiscal year effective July 1, 2013. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Examination
