The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Oasis Treatment Home Providers provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents, ages 6-18, with severe behavioral and emotional disturbances in a treatment home setting. Treatment Home Providers prepare structured treatment plans with colleagues, parents, legal guardians and other professionals within a child and family team to correct unacceptable behavior. Treatment Home Providers carry out treatment plans as needed by delivering psychosocial rehabilitation, implementing therapeutic interventions with clients, facilitating and co-facilitating psychosocial rehabilitation groups, provide parent education role modeling implementation of the program models for transference into the home environment, and act as liaisons with schools and other providers. Treatment Home Providers take the role of shift lead to be responsible for the home and youth care when a supervisor is not on duty. Organize and supervise recreational outings/activities. Providing opportunities for youth to practice a variety of life skills. Ensure clients take prescribed medications. Teach, train and supervise clients in self-care skills, social skills, empowerment, and academic skills in order to accomplish goals in individualized treatment plans by utilizing a psycho educational model (PEM), Aggression Replacement Training (ART), teaching interactions, role playing, daily family conference, and relationship building on a consistent and ongoing basis; implementing weekly home notes, daily point cards, and school notes to initiate change in client behavior through immediate feedback; and tutoring clients to improve academic performance. Implement client monitoring, verbal strategies, and non-physical de-excalation intervention.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and one year of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR three years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a residential treatment home or psychiatric hospital; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
Must be able to pass Department of Family Services Specialized Foster Care Agency Staff clearance process.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
