The Position
Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS). Agency positions may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location and any shift. This position is initially being assigned to the Assisted Outpatient Treatment team in Community Services, located at 6161 W Charleston, Las Vegas, NV. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Mobile Crisis, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the new Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through mental health clinics located throughout the community. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program.
Work responsibilities include providing psychological assessment and consultations using a wide range of instruments, developing behavioral intervention strategies, group and individual psychotherapy. Will also provide crisis intervention, help develop safety plan recommendations for patients, and conduct patient interviews. Emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, formulating individualized treatment plans that leads to self sufficiency. Ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a supervisory position. Incumbent will work an innovative variable schedule and are exempt from overtime. As condition for continued employment must complete and maintain all position and agency required trainings and certifications, including respirator fit testing and Certification in Conflict Prevention and Response Training which the agency provides. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting.
Special Requirements
    Licensed Psychologist I's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
