The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position plans, coordinates and performs the Real Estate Division's Legal Administrative Section functions. Incumbent works with the Attorney General's office in coordinating disciplinary cases for hearing before three Commissions, drafts subpoenas, and coordinates witnesses for hearings. Incumbent must ensure that Complaints and Notices of Hearing are served within the lawful timeframe and agendas are posted in compliance with Nevada Open Meeting Law. Incumbent acts as Custodian of Records for the Division. Incumbent prepares agency drafts of proposed regulations and drafts the Small Business Impact Statement for regulations. Incumbent drafts regulations and schedules and Notices Workshops and Adoption hearings for proposed regulations, and works with LCB staff on the language for proposed regulations. Incumbent tracks proposed Legislation and analyzes the impact of proposed Legislative changes. Incumbent administers the disciplinary case management system utilizing the Division's proprietary system. Incumbent prepares Legal Section reports including quarterly disciplinary reports to the Legislature and regular submittal of discipline to the ARELLO disciplinary data bank. Incumbent supervises two staff.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field and one year of previous experience in planning, coordinating or administering a program; OR one year experience as a Program Officer I in Nevada State service; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and five years of previous experience in planning, coordinating or administering a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

PROGRAM OFFICER 2 (07.647) Training and Experience Exam. Law Enforcement
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. 6) Describe your supervisory experience, including the number of years.
7) Detail your experience, including number of years managing a program. Describe the complexity of the program(s) you have managed in the following terms: A) single component program(s); and/or B) multiple component program(s).
8) Describe your computer skills. Include the programs and level of proficiency as follows: Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced.
9) Describe your experience, including number of years, within the field of criminal justice as follows: A) a public safety department; B) sheriff's office/police department; C) court system; D) district or city attorney's office; E) enforcement agencies such as DMV Compliance Enforcement, Gaming Control Board Enforcement Division, Dept. of Wildlife Division of Law Enforcement, etc.
